1.5      Setup Procedure

·        If you want to change the existing demo UML models or create your own, you have to have StarUML installed on your computer (a free, open-source UML modeling tool, http://staruml.sourceforge.net/en/).

Note: SOLoist supports the current version of StarUML and its XMI 1.3 format. Other tools that produce XMI 1.3 can by used in SOLoist Cloud, too, but compatibility is not guaranteed.

·        SOLoist Professional: Follow the setup procedure for the SOLoist Professional package to install it on your computer.

  • SOLoist Cloud:
    • Register your own private workspace at SOLoist Cloud. You can opt to include the Company Organization demo in your workspace or not.
    • If you want to create your models from scratch, download the empty template SOLoist UML model for StarUML from the UML Model page of your workspace in SACC. Use this template to create your models.
